My favorite project this year was the Biomes project. During this project, I learned about how much we pollute the rainforest every day. This project interested me because I like learning about different kinds of environments. The information I studied in this this project can be helpful in my everyday life. It can be helpful because I know a lot about the plants and animals that live in these environments and found out ways to prevent the pollution of our environment.

Testing With pH Paper
Hypothesis: Which of the four compounds is the most acidic and which is the most basic? I think that the vinegar is the most acidic because it is the lowest number of all of the substances (2); it is closest to the zero on the pH chart. I also think that Sodium Hydroxide is the most basic because it is the highest number of the four substances (10) and it is closest to the fourteen on the pH scale. Materials:
pH paper
pH chart
Orange Juice
Sodium Bicarbonate
Vinegar
Sodium Hydroxide
Procedure:
Put on safety goggles
Take a piece of pH paper and dip in each substance(get a new piece of paper for each substance!).
Compare the color on the pH paper to the pH chart. Copy your answers on your paper.
